Ridge Haven Prayer, Fall 2022

"...the witness is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life."  1 John 5:11-12 NAS

There is the story that if you give a man a fish, he has enough for a meal. If you teach him to fish, he eats for a lifetime. Just how important are our Ridge Haven ministries? Is it just for rest and recreation? Certainly, it provides a welcome and needed opportunity for ministry recovery and fellowship. But it also is more than just fun and games for the children, young people, and adults. The ministry of Ridge Haven is to be obedient to the Great Commission: to raise up disciples that will reach the world with the blessings of our Savior. Thank you for your love and commitment to this vital ministry in support and prayer.

I asked Wallace for items for our prayer attention. Here are current needs:

Please pray for:

  1. All the college and youth groups coming this fall. We are literally packed almost every weekend. [Brevard campus]
  2. For the new gym to be finally finished. It appears that we could have it by the end of October. With such large groups this fall, we are so in need of it! [Brevard campus]
  3. Our staff as they demonstrate in both Word and Deed what Christ has done for them.
  4. Director Cameron and Jeanna Anderson as they are expecting their second child on November 3rd!
  5. Cameron as he assumes more and more responsibility at both camps and for Jeanna as she oversees our infirmary.
  6. Staff leader Steve Cobb and his family - he lost his father recently.
  7. Our kitchen staff who have been without a chef since June. Pray that we will find one soon who can cook and minister to our large kitchen staff, including their 30-40 summer workers.  {Brevard campus]
  8. Andy White, VP of our Board, as he considers surgery over the next few months.
  9. To finish out $5.1M capital campaign by the year-end. We only have $198K remaining!
  10. We have on the Cono campus, 159 trees that have to be taken down in the next year due to a disease in the trees. Evidently, this is a serious tree disease that is spreading and is being forcefully dealt with. Not only the cutting down of most of our trees, but they have to be burned close to where they were cut. What a challenge for the Cono staff.
  11.  For Cono's new ministries to home schoolers and leaders, and helping with the small area churches with youth group ministries.

And we can praise the Lord for:
        1.  With the completion of our capital campaign, we will be debt free, enjoying our gym,
additional cabins, and our new Cono Campus.
2 . An incredible year so far in both participation and seeing lives impacted by the Gospel.

        3.  Archie Moore our Chaplain who has such a ministering gift to our camps; and for our
            current and former staff members.

Thank you for your faithful prayers. ridgehaven.org is another resource for our prayer focus. Please forward these to other prayer warriors in your churches.

Blessings in Christ, our Kingdom builder,

ANDY, for the Board
