Cono Pool Complete; Grass Update

 

I'm Casey, and here's what I'm seeing Good Day Fellow Friends of Cono,   What fun to witness the opening of the new pool at Cono. Summer camps and conferences have kicked off at Cono. You're looking south from the Gardner Gym. Then about the grass. . . There is a remnant of former Conoites and newbies who are actively involved with Ridge Haven at Cono. I call them the Nehemiah Crew. A couple of days ago, my wife Victoria was heading home to Walker. She was traveling south on Quasqueton Avenue between Cono and Walker and passed Shannon Meadows driving their lawn tractor northbound for Cono. Shannon was on her way to mow the campus.    Mike Rehberg, (Cono Class of 2000) trailers his lawn mowing equipment to Cono so he and his two oldest daughters, Lilly and Sofie, can mow. The newbie's Meadows, Mike, Shannon and their five children, and long time Conoites, Rehbergs, are keeping the grass on campus under 4 inches while one of the originals of Cono, Dan Gardner, (Cono Class of 1962) heals from shoulder surgery. Dan took over the mowing all last year and if the Lord allows, fully intends to again be the chief lawn man this year.    Mike Rehberg’s wife, Rose, a certified teacher, teaches Math and assists with organizing the program for the home schooled children who come to campus every Friday during the school year. This year the program began with 13 students and ended with around 45. (I’ll share more on how that came about in a later post.)    Victoria Reinkoester, former Cono teacher, dorm parent, and cook and bottle washer, is on campus 2 to 3 hours a day Monday thru Thursday continuing her lifelong speciality of teaching little ones to read, and giving older students the tools to be above average lifelong readers.   God for His glory, has brought life back in the prairie of Iowa where we spent a portion of our lives. There were many obstacles to getting the ministry of Ridge Haven running. This summer the ministry will be at full capacity. To God alone belongs the glory!    God has allowed me to remain nearby and witness His work. He is not finished with using this little piece of dirt to train children and adults to be faithful lifelong servants. The ministry of Ridge Haven at Cono is WORTH your prayerful and financial investment.    Love to All; My Fellow Conoites,   Casey Reinkoester, Cono Class of 1973 And then these thoughts: Giving a little for a long time.  Florence Myers, grandmother of two and great grandmother of three former Cono students faithfully gave a small amount monthly to Cono. I don’t know for exactly how long, but I was told it was many years.  Following her example of faithful giving, I am forming the “Florence Faithful.” I am humbly asking that grandparents and parents of former Cono Students become a "Florence Faithful." Former alumnus, staff, teachers, cooks, and bottle washers are welcome to join them. Consider what amount you can give regularly, faithfully over the long haul. The amount isn’t important; giving it regularly, faithfully for many years does. God has graciously placed me nearby to witness the rebuilded Cono, now known as Ridge Haven at Cono. Summer Camp Updates!

Hello from Ridge Haven! The Summer is in full swing both in Brevard and Cono. We are so excited for all that the Lord will do in the hearts and lives of both campers and staff and we are thankful that you have chosen to be a part of that as well! We have already completed two full weeks of camp in Brevard with our third week currently underway. Camp has also started this week in Cono and we are so excited for what the Lord will do in the plains of Iowa this summer. Over the next two weeks we will be hosting nearly 1,400 people on campus in both Brevard and Cono and over 35 PCA Churches! Please pray with and for us that we might show Christ through our service and that His Spirit would capture the hearts of the next generation. We are so excited to be hosting multiple Presbyteries this summer in Cono! We are currently hosting the Iowa Presbyery for our first week of overnight camp and are looking forward to hosting Heartland Presbytery next week with nearly 170 campers! Our Iowa Presbytery campers this week are already looking forward to this great new addition. Construction is still underway for our new chapel at Keyes Summit in Brevard. We are looking forward to having this new space for our campers to continue the tradition of camp-wide worship atop of Keyes Summit at the end of the camp week no matter the weather! Our Family Cabins are also still underway and we cannot wait to be able to offer this new option for family lodging. They are located right in the center of campus near Badger Barn and the Ridge! 2025 SUMMER CAMP Registration is still open for our 2025 camp season, and we have space available in some of our weeks! Please continue to join us in praying for our campers, that the Lord would prepare their hearts to draw closer to Him. If you are interested in joining us at camp, we would absolutely love to have you or your family join us! Hello from Ridge Haven! We are so excited for our summer season as we gear up for Summer Staff training to begin in just a few weeks! This will be our largest summer staff ever, which will be great to handle our very full summer! We look forward to all that the Lord will do in the hearts and lives of all who set foot on campus at Brevard or Cono this summer. Below is our list of camp weeks: BREVARD Week 1 – May 26-31: Junior, Junior High, Senior High Week 2 – June 2-7: Junior, Junior High, Senior High Week 3 – June 9-14: Junior, Junior High Week 4 – June 16-21: Family Camp, Service Project Camp Week 5 – June 23-28: Junior, Junior High, Senior High and Summer Retreat Week 6 – June 30-July 5: Family Camp Week 7 – July 7-12: Junior High, Senior High and Summer Retreat Week 8 – July 14-19: Junior, Great Adventure Week Week 9 – July 21-26: Family Camp Week 10 – July 28-Aug 2: Junior, Junior High, Senior High, Service Project Week 11 – August 4-9: Junior, Junior High, Senior High In addition, we host groups each week of the summer that bring in another couple thousand guests! What a blessing that there are high school and college students who would give up their Summer to serve at Ridge Haven! PARTNER WITH OUR 2025 SUMMER STAFF! A big part of what makes Ridge Haven Camps so memorable for summer campers and guests alike is the godly and dedicated summer staff members serving them. We are so encouraged at the group of people that the Lord provided for our staff this summer! Please pray that the Lord would equip our entire staff with everything we need to love and serve the campers and guests all summer. We are excited to introduce the opportunity to partner specifically with an individual summer staff member by committing to pray for them by name throughout the summer.
